Re: Orioles@Padres 6/19/07-6/21/07
This was said for a specific reason.....and not lost on the person it was meant for........sorry......
but I do believe what I said.........we had a glaring need, something of value maybe at it's highest point, the move needed to be made if possible when it was at it's highest value and not given the chance to slip......IMO

1998 World Series.
It's just humerous that you comment on the Padres losing 2 out of 3 when the Yankees just got brooms handed to them by the Rockies.
By the way, weren't the Yankees supposed to be in San Diego in this series until they backed out and decided on the Giants instead. That'll probably work out better for the Yankees.
As far as the 1998 World Series...you're right, the Yankees had more talent, better pitching and a better team than the Padres, I'm not denying that at all. It's just my opinion that if you're going to buy the best players out there and have close to a $200m payroll, you shouldn't be getting swept by ANYONE let alone the Rockies.
Re: Orioles@Padres 6/19/07-6/21/07
I know Bronx from another message forum so he probably felt comfortable commenting in here on the recent series.
Also we're about to play his team's hated rival.
I didn't have a problem with his post, it's not like it wasn't the complete truth.
When I saw him having the last post in this thread at the time I was actually expecting to see a bit of smak talk and was all prepared to pull out the Rockies series, but I didn't really classify what I saw as being intended as smak.
just my 2 cents
Re: Orioles@Padres 6/19/07-6/21/07
I took it as smack and if it wasn't intended as such, then he has my appologies.

Linebrink debate has been moved to its own thread.
