One a product of endless supplies of money, playing behind some of the best teams in MLB history, and because of those teams was lucky enough to have seen the post season regularly thoughout his career and was successful until falling apart at the hands of his arch rival allowing the curse of the Bambino to finally be broken forever.......

The other a product of near zero money, who played on many truly terrible teams, and yet still out produced everyone ever in the history of the game...both in % and saves

Sounds to me like a lopsided debate.....

I was listening to Hoffman this afternoon on the Dan Patrick Show and after listening to Trevor, I am even MORE convinced he is one of the neatest guys in baseball!!

He seems like a genuine and fun guy!!!

You are 100% right about Hoffy being a great guy........little side story for you.... 4 years ago we were at Spring Training and Hoffman and Burroughs hit up the Monestary ( local Pub where kids are welcome until 7pm next to the ballpark--gone now ) ....but instead of relaxing and kicking back......they had all the kids inside one of the sand volley ball courts running sprints and taking ground balls........it was outstanding.........they stuck around for about 2 hours shooting the shit with everyone and playing with the kids.......then bailed.....no a single person bothered them for an autograph that night......what they did was far better than any signature they could have given......

Thats touching, but I would have opted for the future HOFer and greatest ever closers signature.

Now we are going on money instead of talent? Not much of a debate. Oh and those teams were good but he was a big part of it We can debate it if you want

Oh he's a damn good arm.........but he only played in as many playoff games as he did, because of the guys that gave him the chances......and for the most part he did his job well.......until the Redsox took him apart

He's a guy that checks his ego, or really lack thereof, at the door when he comes into the clubhouse. He's been a team guy from the moment he put the Padres uniform on.

I can't wait to see 600! Congrats Trevor!

Can I have one? That was hilarious. That's like trading your best player for a player to be named later.
