The fact that he's made some pretty good defensive plays the past couple games was a part of my assessment of my side of the debate looking good.

Two words-Aaron Rowand On a side note, Cameron's defense has gone down hill since his last year as a Met despite his winning of GG last season. Thank god for name recognition.

If there was ever a time to bench Cameron...it's today.

He's 2 for 25 in his career vs. Randy Johnson with FIFTEEN strikeouts. Yes, 15 K's in 25 ab's.

He had a two game stretch where he was hitting the ball and even making great defensive plays again.

The bastard decided to go right back into his slump right after I made those posts.

Why have you developed such a hate towards the man?

It's gotten to the point that if he gets a hit it has to be luck? His 12 years of major league experience has nothing to do with it? I'm stupid if I think he just might be getting out of his slump if he starts making good contact and getting hits in two straight games?

I hate this slow start as much as the next guy, and I'm on board with benching him even more than usual myself now that it's been more than a month, but Good lord the guy's being treated worse than Phil Nevin was when he was here these days.

If I didn't know better I'd swear he didn't win a gold glove and provide more than adequate offense for the Padres as early as last year.

Leave the Rowand "I told you so" garbage out of this because you told us nothing.

That entire debate rested around Rowand as opposed to Sledge/Cruz Jr, and that combo is actually doing pretty well.

Neither you, PFF, nor I thought Mike Cameron was going to play like garbage for over a month to start the season.

It's real easy to use 20/20 hindsight to suggest the Padres would be well off if they had Rowand to bench Cameron in favor of right now.

Well you're close.....if he didn't provide a GG he'd be near worthless to any team...... he's a career .260 hitter, who is a walking windmill, and only good for 20 HR's of which more than half are likely solo shots. So when you remove STELLAR defense from his equation you're left with a bench player at best. And I don't hate him...I like him and wish he'd actually contribute on both sides of the ball.

I've said many times that if he was playing GG calibur defense during his batting slump, I'd look passed it knowing he starts off slow, but he's not, so I wont. All I've ever said is that Cruz Jr. should be starting over him until he can right the ship.....I've never suggested benching him for good.....ever....

Now you're on board with benching him.......so you must hate him too

I didn't come to the hate assessment until you started blowing off 2 good games in a row to "luck"

Heaven forbid we attribute that to him seeing the ball or anything.

First off, this isn't an I told you so comment ass. This was a comment based on what i said earlier in this thread. It's easy to say in hindsight and before the season as well. This guy would have won a GG over the ever slipping Cameron last year if he would have stayed healthy. To say I didn't know he was going to play like shit is true but I did know he was declining and that Rowand would be better for the next few years than Cameron. Chill out homeboy as you took this way out of proportion and out of context,.
