The Padres own Schmidt. I don't blame Fresnan for forgetting him.

Penny, Lowe, Schmidt, Kuo, Billingsly.........I think that will likely be the rotation in order.....pretty damn solid if they can get a healthy year outta Schmidt and Kou is the real deal........Billingsly is the guy to watch out for, he's a wolf in #5 spot clothing....that guy is going to be good

Schmidt should be the number one over Penny if he's healthy.

Nah...that's just a Giant fan talking....Let Penny battle other teams 'aces' and let Schmidt mop up the #2's....or #3's if you use Lowe as the #2.....

Just to clear up some things...

Yes, the Dodgers open the season on the road - in Milwaukee. Lowe has been penciled in as the opening day starter. Schmidt is likely to be the #2, followed by Penny, then RANDY WOLF. The #5 spot will be a competition between Kuo, Billingsley, Tomko, and Hendrickson.

Early indications are that Grady is leaning towards Kuo as the #5 man with the other three in the bullpen. However Tomko is said to have tweaked his mechanics and has been throwing better than ever...but I dont see them letting Tomko block a rotation spot for both of those guys.

I agree with reefer. I think Schmidt should get the opening day nod. Lowe should pitch inbetween Schmidt and Penny to give teams different looks. Penny was just too bad in the second half last year to deserve a #1 spot, Lowe was too bad last year on opening day...and Schmidt is the only one that comes with a "true ace" tag...even though he's not really a true ace anymore...he was one pretty recently

    My prediction
Dodgers win the west with 94 wins
Padres get the wild card with 90

Lowe over Schmidt to start the season?...that seems a little outrageous. Probably only because he was on the team last year.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.
