AGon hit .304 w/ 82 RBI and played great defense
MRam hit .321 w 102 RBI and is a questionable fielder

So people actually think we'd give up our best young pitcher, and young stud 1st baseman for an extra 20 runs, and 14M in contracts or something like that ???

Giles/Linebrink for Manny makes great sense....Manny give us the type of hitter we needed from Giles.....Linebrink makes it worth Bostons time....since they need bullpen help and Giles OBP in the #2 hole might work since they are adding Drew....plus he's half the price of Manny

Get serious? Boston doesn't want Linebrink? Boston was one of the teams that called San Diego, before the trading deadline last season, asking about his availability. How do they not want him? With Papelbon now going into the starting rotation, who's going to be their closer?

If Boston does sign Drew.....they don't want, they NEED to dump Manny and his contract, which is why he may be had for less than perceived value....Boston loves Linebrink, and Giles is a good #2 hitting fit for that lineup....his OBP and rock solid defense is exactly what they could use, and he and Linebrink added together would be half the cost of Manny....

That makes perfect sense....
