But that wouldn't really please the masses, because then they'll just accuse them of going back on their word every day they haven't acquired anyone yet.

I watch for what they're doing every day, but I see teams making FA signings yet we've been quiet to this point. Are the Padres looking to bring back Loretta? Are they going to trade Linebrink even though KT says he won't?

All I can say is we'll see.

This is my 4th offseason while frequenting message forums and i've learned that everytime another team makes a move fans start freaking out about inactivity.

There's a lot of other teams who haven't done much yet. The Padres are notorioius for waiting to see how the market plays before they move.

They'll make their moves.

But how long are they going to wait. I know Towers has been netorious for seeing how the market shapes out, but I think a lot of us are anxious to see what the front office is going to do.

It's not December yet.

Getting impatient at this point of the offseason is the equivilent of getting concerned that the season might be out of reach if they lose a few games in April

We're starting to expect things in San Diego......Our teams are winning, and we are getting used to the idea that it will become a way of life here for us. As such we expect to see movement from the FO, during the offseason, and when the major players available are snatched up without so much as a flinch from our FO, it's understandable that fans start to get restless and worried...We want another winning season, and to build a contender on the foundation we have here.....which means getting the missing key pieces, not continuing to wait in the hopes that a bargain lands in your lap....the whole time hoping that the existing foundation remains healthy and intact....

I'm just suggesting that that's how some might feel....
