I think the Pads have as good of a shot as anyone to land Ramirez but someone thought they had a better chance of landing Soriano than Ramirez which I cannot see. More teams need a corner OFer than a third baseman.

I don't know anything about the guy, so I don't know if I'd refer to him as a "3rd baseman of the future" or not, but we traded Josh Barfield for him today, so I hope he is pretty damn good.

The speculation is that Marcus Giles will be playing 2nd base as a Padre next year.

I'd obviously prefer Soriano, but we know how the bidding's going to be there. (Although maybe we'd have a leg up if we told him he could play 2nd for us?)

Yes they did.....and I am.....I think we got screwed in the deal personally, but we'll have to wait and see what they do now.....

Aki can play 2nd.....Soriano can play 2nd.........etc.....so we'll see
