I'm not normally the type to start a new thread on an already existant subject, but i'll make an exception here.

Not once did the Padres give up last night. Not even after the Dodgers pulled off the miracle to end all miracles to win 1/162nds of the baseball season.

Last night simply belonged to the Dodgers and that's that, bottom line.

But the Padres kept fighting and, as much disdain as the phrase holds in some Padre fans' minds due to Bochy's overuse of it, this time, yes, you just have to tip your cap.

That win will more than likely boost the Dodgers' confidence, making overtaking them in the division a tough uphill battle, but it in no way comes close to ending the Padres' season....or at least it shouldn't.

As I said in the other thread, if it does kill their confidence then **** them. One game should not effect other games that much, not in a negative way anyways.. ESPECIALLY not in the thick of a playoff race.

The Padres still own the wildcard lead and there still in as close to striking distance to 1st place in the NL West one can possibly be without actually being tied.

The season is far from over.
