    And to answer your question 777, if a relief pitcher finishes the last three innings of the game he gets a save, regardless of the score. I just got Scotty Linebrink a save in a similar situation on my MVP season

    oh lol so heck it could be 20 -0, and a relife pitcher comes in and in 7, 8,9 and gets the save?

    I love Hoffy and what he means to the Padres........but the SAVE is way overrated.....there are only a handful of situations anymore where the guy comes in and "saves" the pitcher anymore.......but Go Hoffy !!!
