wow, that game looked like it was pretty horrid. But, 10 run loss or not they still took 3 of 4 from the defending NL champions in their own home, so i'm still happy.

And to answer your question 777, if a relief pitcher finishes the last three innings of the game he gets a save, regardless of the score. I just got Scotty Linebrink a save in a similar situation on my MVP season

You say that like as though they haven't attempted to address the situation. Just because all attempts have apparantly failed (book is still open on May, although I don't like what I see there so far) doesn't mean they've sat back and watched as every pitcher put there has failed.

Although, thinking I know what you really mean, maybe they'll stop trying to sign a "#5" and sign, maybe a #3 and bump Lawrence and Woody down, making Woody the #5 (don't expect them to run out and sign some ace-quality starter, the Padres simply can't do that for budget reasons..)
