whatever, still .5 back, still in the WC lead.

People will say this game is some kind of perverbial motivational boost that gives the Dodgers the boost they need to hold onto the lead.

Wheras there's some truth to that mumbo jumbo it's not as big of a deal as some make it out to be.

I have never seen a game like this.

5 homeruns in the last 2 innings including back-to-back-to-back-to-back homeruns as well as a walkoff.

Two blown saves in the same game for the Padres bullpen, not good times.

Tell me if there are any funny/interesting quotes from people over at the UT forums after tonight.

There is a LOT of truth to that. Excuse me while I cry a realist's cry.

4 straight homeruns on 5 pitches from 2 relievers.

I didn't deny the validity. We saw it happen in April.

People just talk like it's written in stone, only to see it not be as bad (or good, depending on who we're talking about) as they make it out to be sometimes.

I can't count the number of times someone said "Oh shit, they just lost a horrible game, this will plummet them into a losing streak!" only to watch them win the next series or two and have everyone forget about it.

The Padres might lose tomorrow off of sheer shock/being tired with the late game. But I would not be suprised if they win the Arizona series and the Pirates series and forget about today.

If Bochy's smart all he has to do is preach common sense and realism by pointing at the standings and pointing out that they're not in any worse shape than they would be if they lost a game with not-so-many shenanigans today.

They still split a 4 game series with the division leader and they're still well within striking distance.

In the end it's just one game out of 162 and that's all the players have to remember...if they do or not, that's another story.

I don;t think this will hurt us. Actually, I think will actually encourage us to keep fighting. BUT, this will definitely help out the Dodgers twice as much, and I see them wining at least 75% of their remaining games after this. Call me crazy, but I really believe things like these can completely change ballclubs this late in the season.

This game has to blow some confidence from this team and add more to the Dodgers. 4 homers in the final inning?

The capacity crowd of 55,831 at Dodger Stadium stood and cheered for several minutes afterward.
More like 30,000, since half the Dodger fans had left when the Padres were up 9-5!
