Kelcher put it nicely.

Meredith was more benificial to the game yesterday shutting down the 6th and the 7th than he would've been shutting down only the 8th.

In hindsight maybe he was.....but my crystal ball is broken, don't know about any of you ???

And that doesn't change anything about Linebrink being a heartattack on the mound..... two run leads aren't safe with him anymore.....

Seanez( and rest of the bully ) in the 6th, Linebrink in the 7th, Meredith in the 8th, Hoffy in the 9th....or swap Linebrink and Seanez if you must....

I think the real point Kelcher was trying to make is that the whole "one inning per relief pitcher" system is a bit overused and that we'd do ourselves better to use our better relievers for more than just one inning, and in the more crucial situations, not just a specific inning (ie, the 8th)
