I do believe Witlon was speaking on behalf of the Padres end of the trade.

Ohh ok, thanks for clarification... The "I think this trade is a bust either way" part got me somewhat confused there for a sec. I understand what he meant now.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett
Actually I think they are more impressed with Bard, and know that there are guys behind Kotteras that they think might have more power potential along with more sound defensive skills.....which made Kotteras very expendableOriginally Posted by Witlon
and moving an expendable guy for a lefty starter, that might be the missing piece to a rotation that had a hole to fill, is worth the gamble.......so again.....if the Padres make the playoffs, and Wells is apart of that, it was worth it......if we miss the playoffs it wasn't.....pretty simple to me
