Thread: Quite a possiblity.

    Quite a possiblity.

I find it a bit discouraging that since the Dodgers acquired a handful of solid players, Grady Little claims the team's recent streak is directly attributed to the confidence boosts that team management has given the club in that they're trying as hard as they can to create the best team possible. This would be a bit more settling if we hadn't of gone two years in a row now with horrible streaks after the deadline when more promises were broken than actual moves (especially after we went 4-15 after Moores decided to go public with his lack of desire to win if it requires even one more dollar).

I just hope management is taking notes, because this situation is really getting to me. The Dodgers got the two exact players we wanted and have since been the best team in baseball; who's to say we would have NOT had the same fortunes had we made similar moves?

I'm all for a free Todd Walker, but I believe a free Todd Walker with Betimit and Maddux would have put us into a commanding lead atop the division.

    I can't really say I disagree.

Of course, I also didn't expect Maddux to suddenly get back into form again right as the deadline comes up.

We never targeted Lugo, so he's more or less the icing.

Maddux was uninspired in Chicago once that team showed just how bad they were...... anyone that looked could see that..... he was lights out at the beginning of the season when he thought they had a chance.......now that he's back on a team with a chance, he's lights out again.......hmmm that was a tough one to figure out....

Betemit.......lmfao at this one......this will go down as one of the worst moves never made for us......with all this losing we're doing, how's Linebrink been?

Lugo was just a brillant addition....he's a stud and will be for a while

Pitching in a pitcher park cant hurt either. I think thats whats helping Maddux too.

They gave up a lot for a 2 month rental of Lugo, not that i'm saying it was a bad move or anything.

I'm right there with you OBBolts....I just have a feeling this has John Moores written all over it. Think about it, Moores knew he didn't have the prospects for Maddux and knew he wouldn't be cheap if they wanted to re-sign him. As for Betemit, he knew he was going to have to pay a good chuck for a long term deal after this year. That has John "Cheap" Moores written all over it.

Isn't our payroll in the top half compared to other teams? Its not Yankee or Red Sox money, but its relatively high.

I'm sorry, but in all honesty I laughed out loud when reading this.
