at least Nevin and especially Klesko are getting into gear, leaving us with only 1 of the 3 hitting like crap.

Giles should not be on the bench. Like it or not he is one of the key cogs to the Padres offense. He is one of the main soruces that was, and still is expected to make this team win. As much as his ongoing slump sucks it is impossible for him to work out of it sitting on the bench.

Should he be moved down in the line up? YES
Should they consider platooning him a bit more than they otherwise should? YES
Should they outright bench him? NO

oh, and btw, X Nady is 3 for his last 34

3 for his last 34 and still hitting better than Giles, before last night......... You don't keep running failure out there unless what you're after is failure itself. There are more than enough guys on this team to give him a break when he's slumping for so long......I don't agree that you bench all guys in a slump, I'm saying that when the slump lasts for as long as this one has you need to give him a break, allow him to un**** himself........then you put him back in the line up and move him down to take the pressure of being a #3 off his back. But IMO you do NOT keep running a guy that is so obviously unable to see, hit, or do anything back out there on a daily basis until he's got his head back on straight. No way !

That being said..........nice game Giles.........must have needed someone in the MLB forum to rag on you........I should have done this sooner.......it's all my fault for waiting ( lol
