Yeah, those Peavy-Lowell rumors were just riddiculous...and then became even more retarded as Red Sox fans tried to argue that it'd be a dumb move for them to make.

And then, Chris Young-Lowell rumors surfaced, which were just about as retarded.

    Silly Red Sox fans/media.

I'd love to have called in and said something, but it was only a 20 minute ride and I didn't have my headset. I really don't like living in enemy territory so to speak.

    I think it's pitifully sad.

    Padres

The reason the Lowell deal wasn't going to get done is the Red Sox were asking for a top starter from the Padres. From what I heard they wanted either Jake Peavy or Chris Young, which we all know was never going to happen.

Call me crazy, but there was talk that the Red Sox may put David Wells through waivers, I wonder if the Padres would have any interest in him. The way he's been pitching and as long as he's been on the DL this season alone, it would be a risky investment.

Not even playing in a pitcher park can help him. But if he starts to improve, I wouldn't mind a possible Klesko-Wells trade.

i'd rather have Klesko off the bench the rest of the year than David Wells.

The thing is, there's no reason for one of the teams to do it either way. If Wells keeps sucking, Klesko could provide a nice option or backup in the COF/1B, and the Sox wouldn't lose anything. If Wells improves, the Sox really need him as an SP

Klesko would have to waive his no-trade clause regardless...and I thought he said he wants to go somewhere that will play him...not use him as a backup as that will be his role with SD now...hence the reason he might want to be traded.

Klesko was advised that it was in his best interest to waive should a deal come calling.......he said he wouldn't be opposed to going to a situation where he would get playing time shortly after being told. He'd waive in otherwords......and he'd waive quickly if being delt to a contending top notch AL team......

But I would want far more than a fatass, rundown Wells.... something like a mid-level beer league prospect instead

    Padres

Remeber, Mike Lowell went down yesterday with a foot contusion, so they could move Yukalis to 3rd and put Klesko in at 1st if they wanted to make that deal. But, I think with losing Varitek for 4-6 weeks, they'd be looking for another catcher at this point.
