Can bat 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th whereever the team needs him. You could certainly do worse than Todd Walker. BTW beware of him in clutch situations , theres a reason why he got the nickname Todd "Money" Walker in Cincy among the fans. Im still pissed the Reds ever traded him.
    Thanks for the encouragement.

so, you'd rather start Blum or Bellhorn over Todd Walker?

I dont know why people (here and outside of the forums) are mad about acquiring Todd Walker. He's not Blalock, but he can still produce good numbers.

People are mad because we spent the last three weeks or so hearing rumors about Ensberg, Betimit, Mike Lowell, Blalock, Josh Fields, Joe Crede, Bill Hall, Beltre, and even Aramis Ramierez...and then when the smoke clears we get Todd Walker.

I can understand the frustration. They just need to realize that, even though it could've been better, the team is still improved with the addition of Todd Walker.

    Padres

I'm not mad about Todd Walker himself, it's nothing against him. The reason a lot of Padre fans are upset is, Towers talked for weeks that this club needed to acquire an EVERY DAY 3rd baseman. After all the talking he does about that, he brings in a guy who hasn't played 3rd base his entire major league career?

At 3rd......I'd have to take a long look at that scenario......if you get Walker 500 grounders and spring training games, and a dozen games under his belt at the position.......then of course Walker....but that guy hasn't played 3rd since Clinton was in office....come on man

No ..........fans aren't mad that we trade for Walker, fans aren't mad at what we gave up for Walker.....the trade was a great move, we got a solid bench player for a nobody farm hand....good deal

Fans are made because the Padres traded for 2nd baseman to play 3rd....This guy has no business being asked to play 3rd this year....none whatsoever IMO....might as well ask Klesko to play 3rd......probably have more power production at least....

Walker has what 6HR's..... 40 RBI this year, 40 last year, 50 the year before.....this guy is tough to strikeout but doesn't produce squat....

Come on guys....Walker isn't even close to the answer for anything other than a role playing bench guy....

Yep, I'm more upest that the Padres didn't go for "an everyday 3rd basemen" like Towers had promise... I'm not upset at getting Todd Walker as much as I'm upset at us settling for Walker.

Didn't seem like the Dodgers gave up much for Greg Maddux.. Even though his numbers hasn't been great this year, Maddux would've still been an arm and a veteran presence..
    Nobody lookin out for nobody
Maybe we should try and help somebody or be somebody
Instead of being somebody that makes the news
So everybody can tweet about it
And then they start to R.I.P. about it
And four weeks later nobody even speaks about it.

I hate it when people throw the word "promise" around. I don't recall Kevin Towers promising anything.

    Padres

The way Ensberg played last night, I don't see them putting him through waivers. I don't think Houston is prepared to part with a guy like than unless it's for Linebrink, and we all know that's not going to happen.
