    You put Maddux in the 3 or 4 spot in the rotation and move Hensley back to the bullpen where he was lights out last year.

    You'd rather have Mike Thompson than a sure Hall of Famer? Don't get me wrong, Thompson has stepped in nicely when Woody went down, but I think he needs the rest of the year in AAA to get his stuff down and then he should be a lock for the Padres starting rotation next year.

    Maddux has an ERA close to 5. He would be used more as a mentor than a 4th or 5th guy. Here's something to add:

    Fox Sports Midwest reports Chicago Cubs SP Greg Maddux has agreed to be traded to a contending team prior to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. The Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers are interested in Maddux.

    When have the Brewers start to become contenders?

    When was that report released by Fox Sports Midwest. ESPN just reported yesterday that he would only be traded to the Padres or Dodgers.
