And I don't care what the Nats want for Livan Hernandez I would not want to trade Cesar Carillo for Adrian "one hit wonder" Beltre.

    Reading comp, anyone?

    Hardly top 100 = #88.

There are a hundred more examples out there. The Nats are demanding 2 top tier prospects and one more player so the team can have Alfonso Soriano for two months. If the Yankees want anyone who will be a contributor on that team they'll have to part with Phillip Hughes. The Phillies want a Jon Lester type for Bobby Abreu. This is getting redundant. Hell, the M's traded one of their five best prospects for a LH specialist. When you're a buyer you hardly ever get equal value.

You're not seriously comparing Adrian Beltre to Alfonso Soriano and Bobby Abreau, are you?

edit: and i'm not even disputing that it may or may not take Carillo to get Beltre...just saying that if that's what it takes then **** Beltre I don't want to do it.
I'd much rather stick with Blum/Bellhorn/Leone

    Really? Damn.

Considering that 1 is the best prospect, and 100 is the worst, hardly making the top 100 is in fact being about 88.

perhaps you meant "barely" and not "hardly"

Stating that someone is "hardly a top 100 prospect" insinuates that not only is that person not in the top 100, but that he's nowhere near it and people are dumb to insinuate as such.

No. Are you seriously comparing Phillip Hughes and Jon Lester to Carrillo?

Ok. And I'm just saying that when you are selling a player then you try to get value for him, we're not going to give away Beltre for scraps.

    Touche.

It still makes sense in my mind, but I can see what you are saying.

Beltre would be my first option, but, while in reality, I think Ensberg is out best fit.

to be quite honest I think the Mariners are more apt to trade Beltre than the Astros are to trade Ensberg.

    Padres

Unfortunately, it's sounding more and more like the Astros are not going to part with Morgan Ensberg. Here are a few names that I've heard that the Padres could have interest in....

    Ronnie Belliard
    Aaron Boone
    Joe Randa (again)

    Padres

Only problem with that is, the Braves want Scott Linebrink in return, and I would hope the Padres would want more in return than just Betemit.
