    Trade talks

ESPN Radio 1000 & and in The Chicago Sun Times - the sox and padres have been scouting each other farm systems throughly. He said there is a good chance Scott Linebrink and Mike Cameron for Fields and Liotta ........ This is also on a few Sox forums........ not sure how realistic this is or if it's true......but it seems to be a hot item to Chisox fans

Josh Fields is a stud, and would shore up our 3bag spot for years to come in theory, he's a hot shot prospect that has no place to go in the Chisox organization right now... Liotta is a good pitching prospect from what I've been told...

I don't see how this works for San Diego's view. Cameron has had a hot bat recently, and pulling his bat out of the lineup isn't worth adding a .260-35 hitting prospect. As for Liotta for Linebrink, well, that doesn't make sense at all, either.

I'm not sure I like the addition of Cameron to the deal either.....I'd rather see us move someone else.....but what I understand is that Fields is a stud ??

Fields is a stud, great power bat, his contact hitting probably won't be higher than .260-.270, and he'll probably strike out alot.

.270+ / 20-25+ / 80+ out of our 3bag, with the potential for more........lol can't remember when the last time that happened was......I'd take that along with the K's, I did see that he's got what 96 in 330 ABs or something.......whew!!

And that will shore up our IF for years....a solid young 3bag is all we're really missing now....

That would 2001 Pads with Sean Burroughs. I looked it up. I was going to say Caminitti, but remember Sean did have some power before.

Ugh. Liotta involved in the deal with Cameron in it? I'd prefer ir Carillo were involved on the Padres end instead of Cameron.

are you refering to the minor leagues when you put Burroughs and "power" in the same sentence?

I don't know if I like Cameron's inclusion in the trade.

Would this mean more playtime for Eric Young?

Or do you slide Roberts back over to CF and give the starting LF job to Johnson....ugh to that idea also....unless they have another deal in the works to get us a CFer.......but the Chisox don't need a CFer now that their guy has finally started to hit.....hmmmm

    Padres

Why would the Padres trade Mike Cameron? Is he not the best defensive center fielder we've seen in quite some time? To steal a line from Reefer....Padres won't move Cameron.
