announced on the postgame show, i'll provide a link as soon as one of the sports sites have one.

Merv Rettenmund was hired to take his place.

For those that don't know Merv was our hitting coach in the late 90s playoff runs.

After the game, the team announced that hitting coach Dave Magadan had been relieved of his duties, replaced by former Padres hitting coach Merv Rettenmund, most recently Toronto's roving hitting instructor.

I dont think this will be an imediate impact, but over time I think we should have better bats.

Actually if he truly was a drag on the personell it might have an immediate impact......in the clubhouse, which should translate to the field

the only immidiate impact this might serve is as a wake-up call to the hitters that they are not performing and upper management knows it.

A new hitting coach can't really do too much overnight.

Thats what I meant by an attitude clubhouse change, which could translate onto the field....of course his "teachings" wont take effect for sometime, but I figured smart guys like us could have made that leap...

we need to stop agreeing with eachother.

It's not that we didn't agree before, but it took some time to realize that we were saying the same thing just very differently....we just thought we were arguing
