Time for a change at 3rd

Sorry to all the Vinny supporters but it's time....here's the way I see it....

-Time to release or trade Vinny ( if someone will take him )
-Time to bring up Leone and see if he's got what it takes to be a Padre at the MLB level....
-If Leone fails, this will give us time before the deadline to make a move in the way of a trade. If we wait to bring up Leone then we'll miss this crucial window
-If Leone fails, then we're right where we are now anyway with a Blum/Bellhorn platoon.

If Leone comes up and plays well, then we're in great shape for the rest of the year, and we get much younger...

Wasn't it you that said..."Mark my words, Vinny Castilla will hit at least .270 with 30 HRs this season."

I told you, you were full of crap. Leone is 28(29 next month), so you're not getting "much younger"(He's definately not a prospect, anyway) and his track record only is only really successful at Triple A and below.

And not to mention, when he was up with Seattle in '04, he had 8 errors in 28 games at 3B...Leone has done nothing to prove to me he is the answer.

I did say that Vinny would hit around .270ish, but I don't think I said 30 bombs, I probably did say 25 though

    a decade isn't getting younger.......yah ok...

and now is the time to find out if Leone is going to work....thats the whole point....I'm not saying he will, but why have him in our farm if it's not to use him ?? And we clearly need someone....So if he doesn't work out, then we can start working a deal for a real 3bag....

Thanks for helping to make my point !

No, it's not. There isn't going to be a time to find out if a Triple A guy that's 28, and has failed horribly in his only opertunity is worth it.

Stick with Castilla, or go with Blum/Bellhorn.

-Then get Leone out of our farm system he's taking up a roster spot....
-It's really ok if Leone isn't the guy, but if he's not our future 3rd baseman, and we do need to figure that out, then it's time to get that person here...
-Blum / Bellhorn is a platoon back up role at best and shouldn't be considered our option for starting both of these guys are bench role players at best IMO....

Bill Hall from the Brewers could be very good for a lot of teams. Brewers are crowded over there at third with Koskie there as well. I would love to see Hall at third over Feliz on the Giants anyday.

    6. Spam: We do not allow spamming ever, which includes posting links to other message boards, team sites that have message boards, "buy my crap" posts, or any other non-sports related garbage. Do not post your spam, send it via the Private Message System here, send it through our members via their listed Instant Messenger accounts or email. Essentially if you plan to use S3F in some way to push your site or forum, expect to be punished.

This also includes placing a link to another site in your signature line. Sig line links will be edited out and the poster warned if and only if he/she is actually bringing something to the table. Spam posts from new members that are obviously only here to spam will be punished as needed.

I would like to see if we could trade for McPherson fromthe Angels he is young and has some power potential and shouldn't cost us the farm. might be intresting to see what it would cost. And hey it couldn't be any worse... could it.
