    Peavy to miss a start.

Don't have a link yet, but they're reporting this on the other forum. I'm assuming it was stated on TV or something.

Apparantly he just has a sore shoulder and they're giving him a little extra time off, nothing major.

    I'll keep you all posted.

Who would take over? Or will the next starter pitch a day earlier?

Well that's good. I think Peavy, Webb and Schmidt are as good as any top three pitchers from any other division.

Update: Peavy's next start might get pushed back from Saturday to next Tuesday, so that he can rest his shoulder, the Padres' official site reports. Recommendation: "There's a possibility [Peavy] might miss a start ... to calm down that tendinitis in his shoulder," manager Bruce Bochy said. Peavy said that his shoulder has been sore during his last four to five starts.

This might explain his over-par ERA.

Jun 2 Peavy (shoulder), as expected, will make his next start on Tuesday against the Brewers on eight days of rest, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Recommendation: Mike Thompson will make Peavy's previously scheduled start on Saturday. Peavy's start was pushed back to calm down the tendinitis in his shoulder which has been sore during his last several starts.

    from Rotowire.

Peavy goes today........sounds like it wasn't too serious, since he basically just had a start pushed back.........maybe the didn't want to waste him on the Pirates....lol

Alderson just said on the radio that Peavy was removed not because of soreness, but because he didn't have "it"......so whew......he's not hurting

He also said that it was highly unlikely that Carillo would be brought up this year..... Carillo however did pitch this week, albeit poorly but he didn't have any issues with his forearm.....so thats good news
