Padres Where is the Cards @ Pads Gameday thread?

I had just got home from watching X3 and turned the TV on right on time to see Piazza hit the monsterous blast.

He missed the PetCo distance record by 2 feet. (Sammy Sosa owns it)

    X3 was GREAT!

There was a couple dissapointments, but they were minor.

All in all the movie was as awesome as I expected it to be.

(don't know if you wanted any details or not...I don't give details away unless i'm asked)

today was a dissapointment, but thus far they're hanging toe to toe with the best team in the NL, so it's not all that bad.

I felt like kicking Giles in the nuts at the end of the game, though.

Giles got picked off at first to end the game. I think he was thinking it was a wild pitch, but Yadamir scooped it up.

Can't get too angry at him, it wouldn't even had been a 1 run game if not for his home run, but it was him that ended the 9th innning rally with dumb baserunning.

How odd from last week, in which Peavy was stellar and got the loss.

Today he was mehh, and got the win!

strictly looking at the box score he seemed like he was doing fine till the 5th inning.

Can't blame a guy for giving up a HR to the best hitter in baseball, but I guess you can blame him for doing so after giving up 2 ERs and then allowing 2 more on base.

All in all the Padres won the series. Can't ask for more against St Louis
