Alright Roberts! Bring him home, Cameron
 Cammy
when did Brett Tomko become a strikeout pitcher like this?
He just struck out the side in the 5th: Barfield, Hensley, Roberts all go down swinging ... also struck out 2 in the 4th inning: Piazza and Castilla both swinging
8 k's through 5 for Tomko, he's supposed to be garbage:rolleyes:
Tomko is pitching well....I think he's always had it in him. Take Woody Williams for example, the Mets NEVER thought they would struggle against Woody.
124 pitches for Tomko to get through 7 innings. At least the Padres worked his pitch count. Time to get some runs off the relievers.
Tomko had a great start to the season last year but didn't get the run support. He was hitting 97 mph last May which blew my mind. Schmidt couldn't even hit 93 mph last year.
Wasnt Schmidt pitching hurt though
He called it "dead arm" which lasted the whole season. Padres went up 3-0 and a 3-run shot from Greene.
Wow ... Khalil Greene man. Coming up huge. You can just about cue up Trevor Hoffman now.
and Khalil breaks open the scoring with a 3 run blast!
If teams can stay close with the Dodgers through their starter, they can just bide their time until the Dodgers bullpen comes in, then it should be an easy win.
Ryan Klesko can't come back soon enough ... only a few more games until Adrian is below .200
I'm waiting to see if Adrian bounces back before I beg for Klesko's return.
I'll start by removing my possible-jinx induced signature
I can't wait to start a thread on how the Padres are having a great month. Last year it jinxed them:)
i can't wait to delete that threadQuote:
