Padres # of times Peavy gets screwed/Barry Bonds and roids

I purpose we keep a running count this year to keep track of exactly why Peavy does or doesn't win the Cy Young like last year.......also I'd like us to keep track of how many times ( if possible ) we have the bases loaded with no outs and score nothing......not one out, not two outs....zero outs....

Last year Peavy lost the Cy Young by a team effort..... how many leads did he leave the game with only to have everyone else fall apart around him...I just think this year we should keep track of this.....

    thoughts ?

Peavy got screwed a whole lot last year. If I were to guess, I'd say that Peavy and Clemens got screwed the most; although Clemens historically has had his ass saved tons of times by his offense, so I don't care much for him. It's not normal to only have 13 wins with that quality of a season.

    Here's the numbers for you.....

    Apr. 3rd v Giants 7IP 4H 1ER 5K's.....W 6-1

    Apr. 9th v Colorado FLUKE 4IP 11H 8ER 2K's....L 10-4

    Apr. 15th @ ATL 7IP 4H 2ER 8K's.....L 2-0

    Apr. 20th v NYM 7IP 4H 2ER 5K's.....ND 7-2

The way I see it, without the Colorado start, Jake should be 3-0

Well the Atlanta game ... he was going up against John Smoltz. Not like the Padres bullpen gave in or anything.

to be fair Eric Young's bases loaded DP would've been a hit if not for supurb defense by David Wright....AND he was safe at first

you can't really blame a guy when he gets hit by great D and then a bad call.

Peavy would've won this game if not for Linebrink giving up a HR to a 47 year old man

    Padres

In Chris Young's 2 starts, they've given him plenty of runs to work with, thus the 2-0 start he's off to.

yeah, it has nothing to do with the 2.95 ERA or the 0.872 WHIP or the .154 BAA

I'm not saying he hasn't pitched superbly, what I'm saying he, Young has had more cushion to work with. Peavy has had NOTHING to work with.

I agree he has got more run support, but to say that THAT is why he's 2-0 is an insult to the guy.

Furthermore I blame Scott Linebrink more than I do the Padres offense for Peavy not getting the win last night.

and these are the excuses I'm suggesting we keep track of..........fact is Young did hit into a double play, fact is Linebrink did blow the game....these are the facts......bad calls aside, they remain facts

It's better for Peavy to get screwed over and Young to get some run support than Peavy to get run support and Young to get screwed over. Peavy can work through close games, you want Young off to a good start to the season and confident with himself.

I doubt it was intended to be an insult to Chris Young as much as it was to simply point out if Peavy had received the same run support he'd also have at least 2 more wins........Young has pitched well no doubt, but the bats have hit better behind him also.....without the run support he received he also would be losing games he should otherwise be winning
