meh, relooking over it... i guess its a wash pretty much. i think hafdawg did a great job getting double the value i wouldve expected he couldve got for rodriguez... and i think erbe has a better ceiling, with the gap talent... but fisher makes a good point (below me, this is an edit), in the end theyre pretty much the same player.

of course, erbe is still 20, and has a shot to take a talent boost.

When you consider that Erbe and Stretch are the same player except for position, SF basicallly advanced 9 years or whatever in time and switched positions.

I was able to acquire more value, get younger, and with Erbe only 20, I hold out hope that, especially if the contact goes up, I could get a good deal out of this.

    koz stfu!

erbe has done nothing for me. NOTHING!!! I get a solid player that will make my lineup even more dangerous. I now have 6 or 7 players that can hit over 25 homers a season all batting back to back. My ss is the only one that can't hit aver 15 homers.

I was only 2 games out of the playoffs last season and 4 games I believe out of first. This is a deal that make's me playoff bound.

Erbe looks like a career minor leaguer, so it's not bad deal at all for your Giants. But no way does Rodriguez put your team that much closer to the playoffs when Colorado went out and acquired three frontline starting pitchers.

Right now he looks like he may be, buts he's 20, has good talent, and can progress.

    So we'll see.

I guess you're sacrificing defense then, putting Stokes in the outfield. I don't blame Haf for doing this deal, I applaud him actually. Rodriguez sucked at a pitcher's park and he will again bat at a pitcher's park.
