How would my major league club gain from trading a starter for a hitter? My offense would gain but my pitching would suffer. Therefore, it would either be an almost useless trade (I'd gain a bit of offensive benefit over the pitching loss), or a completely useless trade (I'd gain no offensive benefit over the pitching loss). Either way, it wouldn't be worth it for me to do.
