We can't all inherit our teams like Koz.

.800 OPS for 3 straight seasons, 687 SBs at age 31... I don't have a problem overpaying for a guy like that. I guess I don't know this league's market, I don't know. You see 6 contact guys have careers in this league, or did when I remember paying more attention. I haven't been active in FA past round 3 or 4 in this league for long time admittedly, or so it would seem, so maybe I just don't know the market.

I always undershot in the past when I was active in FA, and would wind up settling for my 3rd and 4th targets... or worse. But truthfully, I really don't know what is considered valuable anymore... it's been awhile since I knew who the top guys were in this league.

Overpaying or not, my offense should run well, hit for average, and have another run producer to protect Setser in the lineup... and for once I haven't dealt my previous yrs draft picks by this point, AND they're still intact for me... knock on wood.

Well put nick. I offered Robinson a pretty big contract as well.

Sailer tells me that two years is not enough. Then he tells me Boston offers the best overall offer.
My offer = The Chicago White Sox offer William Sailer 5 million dollars per year for 2 years. Go figure.

Thanks Bwitty. I do admit I probably did overpay, but I really don't know what's worth what anymore. Not as much because I don't pay attention, because I always maintain my team and send a fair amount of changes each season... I just don't really follow the other teams in the league, and a lot of the former top guys have either retired or fallen off (i.e. McCoullough, Cuevas, Azevedo.. etc.) I have no idea who is considered top-tier at their position... I just went into this offseason looking to fill a few needs, and when I saw players that could do that I wanted to ensure I could sign them.

Oh yeah, I offered Sailer a contract too. 1 yr initially, said it wasn't enough years, so I bumped it to 2 yrs... I think I offered 4.5 million too. Maybe take or give a little, I don't remember now.

And koz, the inherit teams thing is a joke if you didn't pick up on that. I don't even remember who said it first, all I know is someone from this league used to always throw that one at you...
