Somehow I figured someone in the NL West would throw out an absurd deal to Montero and Rivera. Shame on me for ever doubting.

Minnesota got a 25 year old on the cheap, that could pay off one day. It's interesting to see what some of the old guys got, and then you see Zimmerman gets a one year deal. 7 million for a 3.30 ERA and only 6 homeruns in 180 some innings? Value.

I like how I cut scrubs like Martin DeShong and they get three year contracts in free agency.

Dammit, I wanted Rivera and Montero so bad...and got ridiculously outbid.

But Ronald Belizario is mine, and I'm sure it's only because I was a moron and offered him 2 years.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I would have, but he didn't want to return to Florida.

So he wanted to go my rundown wreck of a franchise but not to the Marlins?

    ...

Anyway, I really need some stability in the rotation this year so I can survive even if he suffers in the 2nd year.

Sam Rodriguez might make or break my season. He's a different style than I usually go after in FA, but after last season's horrible pitching, I'll try almost anything once. I play in a more homer neutral division so the FB tendencies dont worry me as much.

Bill Wirt's got some work to do, he's here many cause he's under 30 and got a great glove.

Basillo Campo is another young guy who's going to have to try and make it in the pen. I am hoping he could provide some depth like Akridge did for those years in Minnesota.

Added a new 2B and RF for a year or two, nothing special, and nothing to keep us out of the cellar. Would've liked to score one of the RP's, but that price is too high for even me.

My pen is starting to get old, might as well sign as many under 30 guys I can and see if I cant get some luck or Campo be an Akridge-esque reliever for me.

I think I got the BEST player in the free agent market in McGill. Nice hitting catcher. Much needed bat to fill a void in the lineup.

    Giants gm
    KBSL - Atlanta Hawks
    Arizona gm - MSL

Well.... I am not signing anything big... just fill in pieces that hopefully keep some butts in seats while I continue to rebuild....

So when I hear everyone praising their signings.... with the one old guy I picked up, I feel like giving a quote from "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"

    "I got a rock"
