Very happy with this. I now have an extra OF, but I can find places to play Bay until he deteriorates.

And Florida got some of the guys I was either targetting (Fox) or considering targeting (Broadway). Not surprised.

Heh, even if Span liked my organization, I was out offered by a good three million. Had to expect it for the premier FA.

Funny thing is, usually the guys we're interested in, no one else is. Like always, Broadway had limited appeal (1-2 other offers on him) and Fox I think only had cash offers from you and me. With Arliss going to sunny Florida to spend his old age... I guess scratch the sunny Florida part, I needed Fox with Kline's injury. Much more happy about that than Broadway.

Oh, and Sadler should be good for 300k. That was his arby price...but he made three million the year before and I don't think the arby decreases.

Well... I had no pitcher in the minors to fill the void in my rotation.... Shaun Marcum was listed a s a closer but has the 9 endurance and should do fine as a 4th starter... 8-6-9 against lefties, 8-6-10 against righties

It's kind of funny. Because Fox and Anderson were simply replacements for Christianson who we gave offers to last year. Christianson deteriorated horribly, so back to square one.

Hey, I'll take us fighting over players with the results you're getting.

500 K and 1 year was the difference for me. And that a rare big offer from me.

The Marcum signing was pretty darn sweet too, since he can start.

Eh, Philly is on the rebound with the young pitchers you are getting through the system. Just sign one of the 3.0 star pitchers left to a deal and make this even more interesting.

Marcum is a 3.5 star starter IIRC. That's a really sweet signing.
