People headed for air-conditioned buildings and water parks today as a deadly week-old heat wave lingered across the eastern United States. Heat warnings and advisories were in effect from Pennsylvania to Georgia, the National Weather Service said. The hot weather is blamed for at least 28 deaths in Arizona, four in Missouri, two in Oklahoma, and one each in Kentucky, Ohio and Mississippi.

Wrote a note then tore it up, poured the beer into a cup.
Sat on the couch, drank it slow, wondering where did ya go?
Realized I couldn't stay, I grabbed my things and went away.
