nicknames these days suck.

Half of them are either initials, or the first letter of the first name combined with the first three of the last name, (This is a definite if the guy's last name is Rodriguez), or something lame along those lines.

Or, in this case, "Bad"

Every Gonzalez is "Gonzo"

Whatever happend to "The Babe", "The Splendid Splinter" "Big Mac" and other good stuff like that?

Nicknames are dead in MLB, But the NBA and NFL have some pretty good ones. I wouldn't mind having the nickname "PacMan" Jones.

There are a ton of nicknames. The Big Hurt, I know the Yankees have a few: Giambino, Bubba, Moose, The Big Unit. C'mon I'm sure every team has one or two. They aren't dead at all.

Chipper? Bubba? That's their first names, or if it isn't their first birth-names, it's what they go by and has nothing to do with baseball related nicknames given to them.

The Big Hurt, Moose, and Big Unit are all old school, as is The Rocket.

I've never heard "Giambino", that's pretty clever.
