Not way too much. This is a reaction move to Appel not signing. We've already got two first rounders that we'll likely go over-slot with.

We needed a right handed bench bat, and whether it's McGehee or Sanchez, we got one.

I'd still like a bullpen guy(preferably lefty) and a utility man that can play shortstop(at the very least) in the next half hour.

Yes, giving up a draft pick for a player that is having that terrible of a year is too much but it appears that's not all the Bucs are getting. Kyle Kaminska is also heading towards Pitt.

I trust Huntington's ability to find righty relievers, so I'm fine with it.

I'm assume you haven't watched Casey McGehee play baseball recently enough to see how much of an upgrade Sanchez is.

I'll assume you haven't watched both since it's a lateral move at best. You don't give up draft picks for lateral moves.

You also don't trade 25 year old outfielders for 38 year old pitchers making 10M. It's the Pirates. It's about as good of a deal as we're going to get.

I disagree 100%. Hell, they could have brought back Overbay for practically free and it would have been better

Trading that draft pick was a bad decision, IMO.

Or we could get something that we need, like maybe a right handed bat.

Not another platoon level lefty. (Like Garrett Jones and Alex Presley).

Or they could have gotten something better than what they did for a first round draft pick. It's absurd to think this is the best they could have done. Lateral move but I hope Sanchez wakes up because I want the Bucs in the playoffs.

Casey McGehee for Chad Qualls was close as the deadline approached...maybe we got our bullpen guy after all.

I think Gaby Sanchez is having a fluke off year. First two full years, he was solid, even showed improved plate discipline last season with a good walk:k rate. Getting away from Ozzie could do him some good.

I hope so. I like Sanchez and even wanted him to be a bench guy for the Gmen but would never sacrifice the 33rd pick in the draft for a sub .600 OPS.
