    Pirates Cruz control

Juan Cruz has been invited to the Pirates camp.

He's had some bad seasons in his career but he's largely been decent after he converted to being a full time reliever. He's typically been a big strike out type but maybe not so much these days. Low risk gamble I think, especially he if performs decently well, he could be peddled into something else.

    [Insert Sabu's negative bullshit here]

Good minor league signing for the Pirates who will have a ton of guys fighting for bullpen roles.

I personally love these no risk deals. I would assume the hope would be he could turn in to a Jose Veras-type 6th-7th inning guy, who could have trade value if we're out of it in July-August. Good move.

    Aaand, he was DFA'd today.

    With a 2.78 ERA. (And a 1.63! WHIP)
