Pedro Alvarez is coming up

Pirates general manager Neal Huntington did not dismiss the idea that Alvarez could make his debut this week at PNC Park, where the team will begin a six-game homestand Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox.

He should help the Pirates, but likely mofo and me would help the Pirates.

I am curious if this will actually happen today, Alvarez didn't exactly start out on fire this season.

Alvarez will make his debut tonight.

What kind of numbers are guy guys expecting? I am thinking .250-.270, 20 homers, and a good deal of strikeouts. His numbers were a bit inconsistent in AAA so I don't know if he was a slow-starter, or got on a hot streak, or what. Either way, he should make an impact.
