Pirates Bucs Trade For Delwyn Young

The Pirates have reportedly acquired Delwyn Young from the Dodgers for two players to be named.
Craig Monroe, who has just three at-bats so far, may be on his way out of Pittsburgh already. Young will serve as a backup in left and right, but he'll probably make more pinch-hitting appearances as a starts. It's doubtful that the Dodgers will get much in return.
Young has offseason elbow surgery so he's not 100% yet but I do like Young over a guy like Brandon Moss. Seems like a good move if Young's elbow proves to stay healthy.

We'll see how this plays out. There's not going to be alot of playing time right away, unelss Hinske gets to play a little 3B or Young plays some 2B(Neither of which are likely to happen.)

We've had intrest in this guy for a long time, hopefully, we got him at a discount price.

Re: Bucs Trade For Delwyn Young

Pirates acquired outfielder Delwyn Young from the Dodgers for two players to be named or cash.
The Tribune-Review thinks the Pirates will keep Craig Monroe and demote Luis Cruz to make room for Young, leaving the team with six outfielders and five infielders. Young was a second baseman in the minors, but he really shouldn't be playing the position in anything less than an emergency in the majors.
Sucks for Young that Monroe isn't part of the deal since he is another OFer he will have to fight for playing time.

Re: Bucs Trade For Delwyn Young

The Dodgers have acquired minor league reliever Eric Krebs from the Pirates as one of the players to be named later in the Delwyn Young trade. Krebs, a 24-year-old right-hander, was 2-4 with a 4.86 ERA this season for Double-A Altoona and has popped up on Chattanooga’s roster.
Another version of the story says the acquisition of Krebs completes the trade. If that's the case, why are we screwed out of a prospect?
