Pirates Win in 10, but at what cost?

Matt Capps just saved a Pirates win, after getting another GW hit from Xavier Nady in Atlanta tonight...but that's all the good news we have...

Jack Wilson left Thursday's game in the seventh inning with an apparent left calf injury.

It looked pretty bad, though Wilson clearly didn't want to come out. Chris Gomez is going to replace him at shortstop. If it's more than a day-to-day injury, the Pirates should call up Brian Bixler to take over at shortstop.
Freddy Sanchez was removed from Thursday's game after five innings with an undisclosed injury.

Sanchez might have been having trouble with his surgically repaired shoulder. Luis Rivas took over at second base.
-Obviously, losing Sanchez for an extended period of time was something I expected, but it would still hurt our offense tremendously. I'm hoping it's just general soreness from playing two nights in a row.

Losing Jack would hurt us defensively, but taking a look at Bixler may end up being worth it. Sadly, it'd just be a look, because nobody wants Jack's insane contract. He's listed as day to day, as of right now, but seeing the injury, it did look quite nasty. We'll just have to wait and see.

If I don't do something with my friends tomorrow, I'll get a gameday setup for the Cubs game.

I'm too lazy to look, what is Wilson's contract?

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

    He has a three-year, $20.2 million contract with a 2010 option.

Wow...that's a rough deal for Pittsburgh.

Unlike Kendall, Wilson can hit.. usually

Wilson lead the league in batting after the all star break last year, sadly, it helped us very little because he bats 8th.

Good work this week Bucs! Looking pretty good. Hopefully Jack Wilson is back quickly.
