    Pirates Opening Day Roster

99% Confirmed, I'll just list and comment.

    CA Doumit, Ryan(Also RF)
    1B LaRoche, Adam
    1B Mientkiewicz, Doug(Also 3B/OF)
    2B Sanchez, Freddy
    2B Rivas, Luis(Also SS)
    SS Wilson, Jack
    SS Gomez, Chris(Also 1B/2B/3B)
    3B Bautista, Jose
    LF Bay, Jason
    CF McLouth, Nate
    CF Morgan, Nyjer
    RF Nady, Xavier

    Pitchers
    SP Snell, Ian
    SP Gorzelanny, Tom
    SP Maholm, Paul
    SP Morris, Matt
    SP Duke, Zach
    RR Capps, Matt(Closer)
    LR Marte, Damaso
    LR Grabow, John
    RR Yates, Tyler
    RR Osoria, Franquelis
    LR Dumatrait, Phil
    RR Meek, Evan

-The bench isn't exactly great, I like Mient and Doumit's bats on the bench, and the gloves of Gomez and Morgan aren't bad at all. We need a step up year from Jose Bautista, and hopefully, Jack can somehow hit like he did in the second half. Obviously, good seasons from Bay and LaRoche are also needed.

-As for the staff, I love the depth. I'm not a big Morris fan, by any means, but I can definately live with all of these guys all year. The bullpen isn't as strong as it was last year. Marte and Grabow are both lefties, and they're our best setup guys. Either Yates or Osoria need to take that 7th inning role if the bullpen is going to be strong. I don't expect anything from Dumatrait, and Meek will likely be used only in blowouts until we get some trust in the Rule V guy.

Brewers Re: Pirates Opening Day Roster

I would just love to see the Pirates finish real close or at .500 this year. That may change the imagie of Pittsburgh and potentially get FA's to be sign in the Steel City.

Good luck to your Piraes this year. If the Brewers don;t win the division, I always root for the Pirates to do well.

Truthfully, the best I could see us doing would be 3rd. I'd be happy with a 5th, and a good draft, though.

I think those are real good goals to have for the Pirates and I just want to see them keep improving.
