Pirates look to move Nady, one way or another

The Pirates reportedly are considering making a trade proposal for Jamey Carroll.
If Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd can extract any value at all for Carroll, who hit .225/.317/.300 last season and is owed another $2.3 million, it will be a job well done. The Pirates may be convinced to trade Damaso Marte or Salomon Torres for Carroll, if it would also net them a quality prospect in return.

Here's another reason why.

I hate the offseason. Whether it's talking about trading for bad players(Carroll), moving players that helped your team last year(Nady, Bay), or giving insane contracts to over-the-hill FA's(Randa, Burnitz), it's always a step backwards for Pittsburgh.
