Players can be traded until Aug. 31, but they must clear waivers. The Pirates will continue to offer outfielder Jeromy Burnitz and third baseman Joe Randa.

How well has Randa played for you guys this season. I think I recall talking to one of you Buc fans and you disliked him greatly. Without looking at his stats, I would still venture to say that someone could use a solid 3B.

Before he got hurt, he was a walking nightmare. Since he's come back, he's been semi-useful as a part-time player and has hit pretty well.

I've always thought he'd have been a better option for SD than Todd Walker, but that obviously didn't happen. I doubt there's a team that would start him at this point in the season, unless an injury strikes.

Speaking from experience, Burnitz could only be used as a fourth outfielder for any of the contending teams. He is streaking. He is solid, but strikeouts way too much. DOn't get me wrong, I like Burnitzbecause he was a good player with the Brewers.
