Casey rumor for the A's and Giants

The prize is Pittsburgh first baseman Sean Casey. Both the Giants and A’s covet him. When he becomes a free agent at the end of the season, the Giants will pursue him, but when it comes to “renting” him for this season, the A’s have the advantage.

Though the organization philosophies are quite different, the Giants and A’s have some similarities as the season is at its halfway point. Both are pitching-oriented with shaky offenses, both are playing in a division where 88 or 89 victories could be enough to win.
And both have a dead hole at first base.

All I have to say is wow. It would be very fitiing for either team to pursue Casey. I just never knew he sparked an interest in GMs like this. I figured it was hard for the Reds to get rid of him because he was not a power hitting 1B. I guess it was just Dan O'Brien sucking at his job again.

So Bucs fans, what would you guys want from these teams for Casey?

I don't know I'd love to have Barton from Oakland, but that's obviously asking for too much. Maybe Craig Italiano and a low spect.

As for the Giants, they have no prospects that I like at all, outside of Marcus Sanders.

uhhh, Barton is hurt right now (broken elbow from a collision), but should be back soon I think. No way would we trade him in that scenario. Italiano is hurt, too actually. He has a shoulder issue and has only pitched in 4 games all year.

Giants have plenty of young pitching but aren't going to give it up for a guy like Casey!!!

If both the Giants and A's have holes at first, what would Sean Casey do to fix that?

I believe I said Barton was asking for too much. And I've always been in love with Italiano's arm, hurt or not.

I know what you meant by Barton, I was just adding my opinion...Beane loves him and I think he would only get moved for pitching.

I really don't know who's available from either team. All I do know is we should get a pitching prospect for him because our pitching is horrid.
