Brett Myers is expected to start Thursday's game against the Mets.
Myers and Jon Lieber are both being moved up a day due to the injury to Cole Hamels. Lieber will start Wednesday's game

Chase Utley went 4-for-5 with a double and a stolen base in the win over the Mets on Thursday.
Utley is batting .382 with five homers, 14 RBI, 22 runs scored and four steals in 22 games during May. At 960, he has nearly 100 points of OPS on any other major league second baseman. Jose Vidro is next at 866, following by Dan Uggla at 860

The Phillies are frustrating my fantasy teams that have Myers on them...he's pitched great, but only has 2 wins IIRC (he may have 3 now, but still).

Jimmy Rollins had a two-run homer and two doubles Saturday in his return to the leadoff spot after two days batting sixth.
Manager Charlie Manuel wasn't about to bat Aaron Rowand leadoff after Shane Victorino returned to the bench. Rollins tonight scored three runs for the first time all season. He has scored 35 runs and driven in 15 in 48 games.

Gio Gonzalez fanned 10 while allowing one run in 7 2/3 innings for Double-A Reading on Sunday.
Gonzalez, 20, is 2-4 with a 2.56 ERA, 39 H and 69/27 K/BB in 59 2/3 innings in the Eastern League. He may not reach the majors this year, but he's a potential second or third starter for the Phillies.

Brett Myers limited the Nationals to two runs and three hits in eight innings to win on Tuesday.
Marlon Byrd's homer in the eighth spoiled a shutout bid. After Myers was removed, Tom Gordon entered a 4-2 game and completed the three-hitter. The Phillies still haven't scored more than five runs in any of Myers' starts this year. The poor run support has left him 4-2 with a 2.80 ERA

Double-A Reading's Scott Mathieson pitched two-hit ball for seven innings and struck out 11 on Wedesday.
Mathieson, who was highly regarded despite not posting a sub-4.00 ERA in any of previous stops, is 5-2 with a 2.97 ERA, 54 H and 84/18 K/BB in 72 2/3 innings in the Eastern League. The Phillies are probably looking at him to break into their rotation in mid-2007, but it's possible that he'll be needed before the end of this year.

Phillies optioned RHP Gavin Floyd to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Three straight poor outings had pushed Floyd's ERA up to 7.29, so the Phillies were left with little choice but to make the move. It now looks like Eude Brito will have a rotation spot until Jon Lieber returns. The Phillies will choose between Brito and Ryan Madson at that time.

Randy Wolf (elbow) threw three scoreless innings in his second extended spring training start on Saturday.
He struck out four. "Physically, I felt great," he said. Wolf is expected to make his first official rehab start Thursday for Single-A Clearwate

Jon Lieber (groin) says he feels much better and could begin to throw again soon.
Lieber thinks he will be able to take the mound against the Yankees just three weeks from the day he was initially injured. He will know much more about his rehab schedule once he begins throwing.

Brett Myers took a no-decision against the Dodgers on Sunday after yielding three runs in 6 2/3 innings of work.
Myers left with runners on first and second and two outs in the seventh inning. Rheal Cormier then gave up a single to Kenny Lofton that scored Russell Martin on an Aaron Rowand fielding error. The Dodgers didn't score any more runs and the Phillies scored three times in the top of the eighth, giving the win to reliever Geoff Geary. That's par for the course for Myers, who has just four wins despite a 2.90 ERA in 12 outings this season

The Phillies selected RHP Kyle Drabek with the 18th overall pick in the 2006 draft.
The son of former Cy Young Award winner Doug Drabek, Kyle is considered one of the top handful of talents in the entire draft. He fell this far due to some concerns over his off-field behavior, but he was too promising for the Phillies to pass up at No. 18

Mike Lieberthal (hip) says he feels much better and hopes to return to the starting lineup on Thursday.
Lieberthal was able to jog prior to Wednesday's game and he said his hip was basically pain-free. Sal Fasano will return to the bench when Lieberthal is able to return
