Ryan Madson won despite yielding four runs and 10 hits in five innings versus the Rockies on Wednesday.
The Rockies had three runs and five hits in the fifth before Luis Gonzalez grounded into a double play to end the inning. Madson gets the Marlins next, so he should be active in all formats.

David Bell went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer off Colorado's Jason Jennings on Wednesday night.
Back-to-back two-hit games have taken Bell's average from .218 to .254. Abraham Nunez has been about as bad as anticipated, so Bell's full-time job should be secure

Cole Hamels fanned 14 in seven scoreless innings Thursday in his Triple-A debut.
He gave up three hits and walked none against Norfolk. With Ryan Franklin struggling in relief, Hamels may now be next in line for a spot in the Philadelphia rotation. NL-only leaguers with the ability to do so would be smart to stash him away.

After being hit on the leg by a line drive Friday, Brett Myers was reportedly limping after the game.
Myers said the leg was "just stiff," so it's unlikely he'll miss any time

Gavin Floyd evened his record at 2-2 after limiting the Pirates to one run in 6 2/3 innings in the Phillies' 5-1 win on Sunday.
Floyd walked five and struck out three, but the lone run scored on a Jack Wilson homer in the seventh. A better team would have capitalized on 11 baserunners in under seven innings, but for the Pirates it's par for the course. Today's quality start was Floyd's second in five outings. He should get another few starts to show he belongs in a big league rotation, but using him against the Giants on Friday is a risky play at best.

Julio Santana, on the disabled list with a stomach virus, is expected to make a rehab appearance on Tuesday for Double-A Reading.
Santana is eligible to come off the DL on Saturday and should be ready then.

Ryan Madson surrendered five runs in 5 1/3 innings Monday in a no-decision against the Marlins.
The Phillies have won four of Madson's five starts, but that's because they've been scoring a bunch of runs for him. Madson has an 8.14 ERA. This weekend's outing against the Giants could be a big one for him. If the Phillies decide to send him back to the pen, they could either move Ryan Franklin into the rotation or call up Cole Hamels.

Cole Hamels pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out 12 Tuesday for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Hamels threw 114 pitches in the game, which seems a little excessive given his injury history. Still, it could be taken as a sign that Hamels isn't far away from making his major league debut. Since it might not last, the Phillies might as well get something out of him while he's healthy. Even those in shallow mixed leagues need to be following Hamels closely.

I saw this guy two years ago in ST and saw a lot in this kid. Injuries have held him back but if he pitches like he did in the game above, **** Ryan Franklin!!!

Aaron Rowand delivered a go-ahead two-run homer off Braves reliever Mike Remlinger in the eighth inning of the Phillies' 5-4 win on Wednesday.
Remlinger gave up a single to Chase Utley to start the eighth and Rowand followed with the go-ahead blast to right. He also added an RBI single earlier in the contest and is now batting .305 with four homers and 14 RBI despite a slow first week of the season

Phillies placed catcher Mike Lieberthal on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a bruised left knee.
It seems unlikely that Lieberthal will need the full 15 days off after getting hit in the left knee by a pitch last night, but the Phillies couldn't afford to play a man short in the meantime. Sal Fasano and Carlos Ruiz will share time behind the plate. Fasano is starting tonight, but Ruiz might be the better choice in NL-only leagues for the next two weeks.

Phillies activated RHP Julio Santana from the 15-day disabled list.
Santana, who had been out with a stomach virus, will pitch in middle relief

Ryan Madson limited the Giants to one run in six-plus innings to win on Saturday.
Amazingly, Madson gave up six hits and walked four over the first three innings and still didn't give up a run. A caught stealing and two double plays helped him out there. Madson bounced back to face the minimum over the next three innings. He was removed after a leadoff double in the seventh, and the runner came around to score off Rheal Cormier. While this wasn't the most encouraging of performances from Madson, it will serve to buy him more time

Pat Burrell hit a three-run homer to get the Phillies started on Sunday night and later walked twice in a 9-5 win over the Giants.
Aaron Rowand also homered to help Jon Lieber win for just the second time this season. Burrell has nine homers and 26 RBI in 30 games this season. He's having trouble scoring runs as usual, but if he can finish with 40 homers and 110-120 RBI, no one is going to care.

Cole Hamels struck out 10 while yielding one run in seven innings for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
The run was the first allowed by Hamels in three starts in Triple-A. He has a 36/1 K/BB ratio and has allowed just 10 hits in 23 innings at the level. Since things are going well for the Phillies at the moment and both Gavin Floyd and Ryan Madson are coming off quality starts, Hamels' major league debut won't come this week. The Phillies can't leave him in the minors for that much longer, though.
