    Phillies Will Blanton Be Traded?

    The Phillies appeared to be trying to trade Blanton after the Cliff Lee signing but not a lot has come from it. Apparently the Phillies want to shed some payroll and Blanton is set to make $17 million over the next two seasons. My question is, who the hell is going to take contract? If anything it will need to be a NL team. Blanton will be 30 next season so he's in his prime but also coming off a disappointing year. Blanton would give the Phillies one of the best #5 starters in all of baseball so getting rid of him might not be the best idea. The Phillies will have to eat some of his salary if they do trade him but with pitchers and catchers set to start next month, will he be traded before the start of the season?

    Fat Joe Blanton is staying. They tried to dump him last offseason but to no avail and traded Cliff Lee instead in order to afford Roy Halladay on the payroll.
