Pedro gets game 2

Manuel this morning said that Pedro Martinez will get the call for game two against the Yankees. Good call or not?

It seems like they were concerned about Hamels starting on the road. I guess it's all they could do at this time. We'll see what happens. Hopefully, they take game 1 so game 2 won't be as important as if they lose game 1.

I think the bigger concern about Hamels is that he kind of sucks. Great move to go with Pedro despite pitching against his daddy. He's going to rock it out.

True, maybe Blanton can pick up the slack there. I just don't want the Yankees to win.

Early and often as New Yorkers watch as Philly dominates... hopefully .

It's a better call than using Blanton or Hamels. Pedro can stomach getting dominated, if it happens. Best to use Hamels at home, same for Blanton. Whether Pedro pitches well, who knows. I'm betting he lasts 4 or less innings

I do agree that it was the Phillies best choice for game 2, but predicting anyone's success against that Yankee lineup is hard to do (the same could be said about the Phillies lineup though too.)

I am hoping he pitches a gem, that the adrenaline of facing the Yankees again lets us get a glimpse of Pedro dominating with the big spotlight at least one more time... but again, that lineup...
