    Phillies Eaton Released

    Phillies released RHP Adam Eaton.
Eaton tends to fly under the radar when it comes to talk of horrible contracts, but the Phillies end up paying him $24.5 million to post a 6.10 ERA in 268 1/3 innings and he didn't even make it to the final season of a three-year deal. Even at his peak Eaton was little more than a decent fourth or fifth starter, and at this point he'll be stretched as a long reliever.
It was a terrible contract and no doubt some team will give him another chance since the Phillies will be paying for it. What were the Phillies thinking? Eaton has never posted a sub-4 ERA in nine seasons.

Its amazing to think about how some of these pitchers would have fared if the baseball free agent market was like it is now back when they signed. The Eaton's, Milton's, Pavano's and etc of the world.
