The much maligned Adam Eaton entered the contest against Houston with a 5 plus ERA, also in search of his first victory. While Eaton was given an early lead in the 2nd inning, he could not hold it down as Houston finally got to him in the 5th and 7th innings. Eaton would go a strong 7, giving up three earned. Much like homeruns have plagued Brett Myers, the long ball ruined a good night for Eaton. The Glass Pane Man Hunter Pence, who has been on a tear since a sloppy start to the season, hit solo shots. The pair gives him 7 on the season and 29 RBIs.

This was one of Eaton's better performances on the season but was unfortunate to witness an off day for Philly's bats. The phillies were just unable to muster many scoring opportunities. Ryan Howard continued his prolonged slump, going 0-4 and alone left 5 men on. Jayson Werth did not play, Victorino and Jenkins were 2/9 in his absence. Pat Burrell, who recently busted out of his mini slump, had 2 hits including a solo homerun. Leadoff man and reigning MVP, Jimmy Rollins had 3 hits. He raised his average to .333

The long ball king, Brett Myers takes to the hill tomorrow.
