Myers Blows Up

There is no better way to start your playoff surge than dropping four of the first five games of a ten game homestand in late August.

Fortunately for the Phils, they accomplished that tough feat last night when Uncle Cholly brought the closer, Brett Myers, into the game in a non-save situation to immediately give up a home run to some fella named Kevin Kouzmanoff. And just to make sure the game was over, he then proceeded to let Terrmel Sledge take him yard two batters later. But Brett wasn’t done there. After the game in the post game press conference, Myers admitted he thought both of those balls were “just pop ups.” When Sam Carchidi, a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer axed Brett if he honestly thought those two balls were pop ups, things got interesting.
