Update: The Phillies have backed off of a multi-year offer to Borowski, after putting him through a physical and discovering some issues with his right (pitching) shoulder, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Recommendation: The Phillies are still interested in trying to sign Borowski to an incentive-laden, one-year contract, but that may be easier said than done given the shallow market for relievers. David Weathers is also an option for Philadelphia, assuming the Reds don't offer him salary arbitration.

It looks like the Orioles made the right choice when signing the relievers they did, and not waiting on Borowski, who wanted a shot as closing. With more arm problems cropping up, his stock just dropped drastically. The Phillies are definately a team that doesn't want their two top bullpen options with their arms about ready to fall off. Sadly, after the Orioles signing spree, there aren't that many good relievers out there on the free agent market, and the salaries for relievers has also driven the trade market higher. It'll be tough for the Phillies to aquire some relief help now.
